Certainly, before you even think of buying a property in Spain you should carefully trawl through the Posts in ‘Spanish Property – everything you need to know’. This section has a huge amount of information to help you. It is objective and complements two books that I have written ‘How to Move Safely to Spain’ and ‘How to Sell your Spanish Property in a Crisis’.

Both of my books tackle head-on the reality of buying property in Spain and the nature of the Spanish property market. The latter is complicated (totally unlike Northern Europe) and something that must be treated with the greatest caution.

At present, the Spanish property market remains volatile and is likely to continue so for some time to come. As such, it is not easy to ‘read’, particularly given the ‘white noise’ produced by prejudiced vested interests. This means that all too easily you can find yourself believing that the property market is moving one way or another – when the truth is quite different.

Meanwhile, as I have written repeatedly, buying Spanish property is like walking through a minefield – with one wrong step capable of leading to a potential disaster. The Spanish property industry has a justifiably wretched reputation and problems are almost endemic.

Indeed, if ever there was a time to be knowledgable then it is when you come to buy Spanish property. If you know what you are doing then you can buy Spanish property safely and live the ‘dream’. However, if you are careless, too trusting or do not know what you are doing then you will be effectively gambling – within an arena that will almost certainly harm you.

So, one of the aims of Spain Property (Culture Spain) is to provide you with the information that you need to buy property in Spain safely – before you start looking at specific properties.

A secondary aim of this site is to provide you with a selection of examples of bargain Spanish property – that are for sale now. These are properties in Spain that are good, objective buys. They are bargains and offer an opportunity – whether because of their competitive price or some other exceptional reason. Each one has, therefore, been chosen, from the many that are sent to me (both from sellers and agents), because the property concerned is exceptional.
